In the Union Budget for the year 2024-25, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the launch of free solar rooftop scheme. Later in February 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a free solar rooftop scheme called PM Surya Ghar Mafta Bijli Yojana.
What is Free Solar Rooftop Scheme 2024?
PM Pradhan Mantri launched Surya Ghar Free Electricity Yojana on February 15, 2024. Eligible individuals under this scheme will receive a subsidy of 40%-60% of the total cost of solar panels. Apart from this, money can also be earned by selling the surplus electricity generated from it. According to reports, each household will get around 300 units of free electricity as part of this program from the government.
PM Surya Ghar Mabat Electricity Yojana has benefited around one crore families so far. How to Apply for Free Solar Rooftop Yojana or PM Surya Ghar Yojana?
- You can apply for this scheme through online mode only Follow the below mentioned procedure for online application-
- First of all visit the official website of PM Surya Ghar Mafta Bijli Yojana.
- Click Apply for Rooftop Solar in the Quick Links section on the home page of the website.
- As soon as you click, a new page will appear in front of you, where click on RegisterHere.
- After this the registration form will open for login. Enter your state, district etc details and click next.
- After this, fill all the required information and click submit
- Now you have to login to the website with your registered mobile number and apply for the scheme.
- After applying, the solar panel has to be installed from the dealer in your area after getting approval from the discom.
- Once the solar plant is installed, you have to enter the details of the plant and apply for a net meter.
- Net meters will be installed and commissioning certificate issued after all checks are done by the discounters.
- Now you have to go to the website and enter the bank account details and submit the canceled cheque.
- After this, the subsidy amount will be credited to your account within 30 days.
How to log people in PM Surya Ghar Mukt Electricity Yojana?
- First of all you have to visit the official website of Surya Ghar Mukt Daugat Yojana and go to the people section.
- Enter your registered mobile number and captcha code here and click on login.
- After clicking you will be logged into the portal.
- How much subsidy will be available in free solar rooftop scheme
- It will get 60% subsidy on solar plants up to 2 KW.
- 60% subsidy up to 2 KW and 40% subsidy on 1 KW will be available on 3 KW plots.
- If the cost of a 3 kW plant is Rs 1.45 lakh, the government will give Rs 78000 of that subsidy, and for the remaining Rs 67000 you can take a cheap loan from a bank. Which will also be arranged by the government.
